The Heartsine SAMARITAN® PAD Public Access Defibrillator (also commonly referred to as an AED or Automatic External Defibrillator) is an easy-to-use medical device especially designed to allow the non-emergency, non-medical person to administer lifesaving treatment in the event of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. A CPR metronome tone is built in, accompanied by a flashing icon to coach the rescuer in providing the correct rate for chest compressions as recommended by the AHA and ERC 2005 guidelines - currently set at a rate of 100 compressions per minute for 60 second intervals.
